@netpork I have a server with RAID and a bunch of other disks for multiple uses.

I just built a console app that will build an array syntax for me. Useful for large arrays. I just went through the entire periodic table of elements and typed the element name and it built a string array for me of all the elements names. So I didn't have to tediously type every quote and comma.

ah, there are quotes also

but they can be easily added by a simple regex replacement, like (.*?), -> "\1",

that's still reasonable if you know that this exact problem will appear many times again :)

One time my university went to test our emergency alert system but instead of sending out the test message they accidentally sent out a mass text message that there was a shooter on campus.

the other thing at play here is there is no way to to just blink the guns out of existence.

so they best thing to reduce numbers is let people turn them in, and somehow start to lower the supply / make it harder to get (one of the toughest things to do politically). But you'd have to wait at least a full generation to even make a dent I think.

and even if you wait several generations they'll never go away completely

If this conversation started because of the OR shooting, ask yourself how many of the recent shootings were at places where law-abiding citizens could not legally carry assuming they had a permit

These shootings almost always end up in the shooter dying from a gun by the police. Because good/responsible people were legally obligated to not be prepared to protect themselves

I don't know why I need a special thing when I have a fucking Toast. My other app has a class that I send it a Context, a message, a gravity, and a duration and it just shows me a nicely customized Toast like I want. But I shouldn't have to do that
