Hi, I have a question regarding the chat.

In the FAQ, it says: "Note that you can only mention @someone who has been in the room at some point. If you need to invite someone to your room, do it from the room edit menu." Where would I find this "room edit menu"?

@sbi Hm, that's a good question. I feel like the room menu drop down in the top right used to have more links on it...

Note that you can invite someone from their user page.

Actually, you don't even need that; just make sure you are in the room, and then go to your victims user page.

You'll get an invite option on their user page

I suspect the FAQ is simply out of date here

Presumably you can only invite people who are already chat users too, which would make sense (but maybe isn't clear). I'll spin the WOB and find out who to blame for not updating the FAQ.

@Marc So, if I got this right, the FAQ is broken, and there's not invitation on the room edit menu. Thanks for confirming that. Still, I would love to know what's considered the "room edit menu". Any hints?

The main problem there is that at the moment we only know the icon of the current room. I just need to add some data to the "other rooms" stuff so that every room knows the icons of every other room.

Cos... the room that shows the window is not necessarily the window that the message was aimed at.

We have some crazy going on, as I'm sure you can testify (having done user-script stuff)

@sbi Oh, sorry. :) The room edit menu is what the "info" link in the top right points to.

The room dropdown menu used to contain more options, and still does contain owner/mod edit functionality.

Well, it did used to have an Invite link, I think...

I'm honestly not sure anymore. I thought that the room page which you linked to had an additional field to invite people previously.
