Basically, nyancats are the people who break the rules (see the things pinned on the side) and are generally lazy, useless, and bad programmers, and just kind of suck. The sort who really, really like copy/pasting code from tutorials.

If the rooms were public, you'd end up with the sort of cesspool that you see with something like the iPhone/iPad room (may have transposed the bits of that room's name).
