Yeah I like to put that in the DOM by using a text/template script. Not sure what the status is on the template element itself, haven't used it before but from the looks of it that is actually a better pick now

the OP there says that would give you an error, you need to use .apply

also this answer shows you how to use the console function without overriding, I'm not well aware of the details but give it a try or ask in the JS room
