So, I think the take away is that a set of database function don't need to worry with such things. If some place in the code needs such functionality, require('async') and let it worry with it. @TravisJ thanks so much for sharing wisdom and helping me brainstorm. I'm always desperate for that.

Another resource is jsClipper library but it only works by scale not pixel offset :(

I know what you are saying, rlemon, about rolling my own and it would be a great project later on. But this is a topic with long papers/pdfs and tons of edge cases. I am wanting to use this in game jam(~1 day away) so I don't have the luxury of burning hours atm. Gotta figure out which canvas library to use, etc
