Yep. Advantage in that usecase is that a user can simply adjust some xml file instead of having to modify sourcecode

Programmer just needs to write a parser for that xml regex meta language

For extra points, reuse local variable names inside {} blocks. The goal is to force the maintenance programmer to carefully examine the scope of every instance. Make sure that every method does a little bit more (or less) than its name suggests. As a simple example, a method named isValid(x) should as a side effect convert x to binary and store the result in a database.

I only use synchronization to mean making operations synchronous.

pretty easy actually. you can figure it out in a couple hours and add that to your arsenal

I have a huge amount of data synchronisation happening in my app, from server to sqlite, and without any db locking errors.

This is good library for that to download the image and caching
