@jcaruso for the dependent switch preferences....after setting the new values (mucus_stamps and fertile_infertil) you might try reloading the entire preferences again.

if they dont switch, its probable you are editing the wrong editor()

you will need to get the root PreferenceScreen from your fragment and calling removeAll getPreferenceScreen().removeAll()

then call addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.NAMEOFXML);

as you do from your oncreate
