I'm not sure about others, but I'm having difficulty trying to discern what this code is trying to do, or how it might be malfunctioning. Have you run it through a debugger to see how it might be misbehaving?

If you don't get help soon, consider creating and posting an sscce or a minimal example program/mcve where you condense your code into the smallest bit that still compiles and runs, has no outside dependencies (such as need to link to a database or images), has no extra code that's not relevant to your problem, but still demonstrates your problem.

i messed up by having two writers with the same name. i edited that now. the problem is everything after the for loop is not firing apparently.

Hopefully your code really doesn't have this: catch (IOException e) {}, or does it? Seriously that is super dangerous to do and is the coding equivalent of driving your car with your eyes closed. At least print the stacktrace with e.printStacktrace();.

the code individually all works. but no functions seem to work when i put them after that for(String imageURL : imageURLs){

im afraid it does, i am a beginner and only have 2 more days to finish this (extremely large) project (and write it up) so im having to put some things aside.
