Sorry for not replying, but I did not get any notifications about your messages :S Anyway, you should be using the new Toolbar instead of the ActionBar as it is much more flexible and customizable. If you never learned about ActionBar, skip it, Toolbar makes it obsolute.

I am pretty much sure there a tons of good exmples and tutorials out there
