I have downloaded phantomjs-1.9.8-windows unziped it in the following path: C:\Program Files\phantomjs-1.9.8-windows

what do you mean by "Did specify the value of the PATH variable accordingly?" if you mean: phantom("C:/Program Files/phantomjs-1.9.8-windows/phantomjs.exe") i have. In this case i do not get the The error message Error in phantom() : PhantomJS binary not located
fff. it works now.
Could it be that my pc needed a restart (does not make sense though). In any case i did the same thing previously but i kept on getting the error i mentioned
