Hello guys. I need help.

I have table user_id, starts_at and ends_at which is used like user schedule(type availability)

Lets user add that he is available from 2017-02-02 16:00:00 to 2017-02-02 18:00:00
and one more from 2017-02-02 18:00:00 to 2017-02-02 20:00:00 (two rows in db)
I search for available user btw 17:00 and 19:00
How I can be sure that there is no gap btw user`s events(added rows in db).
I dont want to get user if the user has next schedule:
from 2017-02-02 16:00:00 to 2017-02-02 18:00:00
and one more from 2017-02-02 19:00:00 to 2017-02-02 20:00:00
And of course have in your mind that user can have two events without gap btw them and one more with gap (so 3 events )

How I can handle it? Could you help me

Something like "I want to find all users that do not have any events overlapping the time period between 17:00 and 19:00"

(is that rephrase accurate?)

Q: retrieve correct data from my schemas

I would like to retrieve the Names of teachers who teach more than 1 course I am really stuck on how to do it , all I know is that I need to consider the Course schema and operate on it , could I get some advice in terms of pi,sigma,rho etc (not i any specifik database language)?

But you can answer the question with a simple SELECT query with a single JOIN

for example, if I want to take out the names of all student, then I would join Students and with Persons , and after that I would take out, project the "name" column
