I'm confused about memory allocation and addresses in two-dimensional arrays.

Let's say I set A[0][0] = 1.
Apparently, **A = 1. Then *A should be the address of 1. So what's A?
A is an address as well. But an address of what?

I have a quick C++ question: Is there any guarantee that the constructor of a class will finish before any of its methods begin execution?
