momentjs.com/tests has 26k unit tests. Granted, a lot of them are for localisations, probably generated and based on the English tests, but still impressive :)

the really interesting thing is, that our coverage for the tests is not even 80%....

oh, that doesn't sound like fun, working on something that may not even see the daylight :\

Yeah, I usually do. But it's quite difficult to find stuff that actually needs polishing on MSE.
