The only parts of Selectors 4 that have been "implemented" are features that were already in place before being specced, as well as :dir() in Firefox 17+ (presumably because it's relatively easy to implement)
Meanwhile, Visual Studio claims "support" for an old draft of Selectors 4... I can't wait to see people's reactions to !ol > li being reported as valid and not working in any browsers

@TylerH I like to think of it as being on the same principle as what you could theoretically already do: querySelectorAll('div:has(span)') and apply classes via JS. Basically, lazy evaluation

I'm looking to create a project that replaces a code section and runs it each time. The code may be canvas based, HTML based, or some type of shader. Any thoughts on what backend I should use?

@ZachSaucier no, when you want to highlight a code in your textarea, say am typing some code in textarea and I want that to indent, highlight just like I do in sublime then you need to use ace.js
but if you want to show a snippet on a blog article or something like that then you need to use google prettify
@ZachSaucier its not about autocomplete, think of jsfiddle where users type in some code, so adding code to those boxes without formatting will be mess
so there, textarea formatting for code is required
