@rlemon Because the person that asked the question complained it turned his button invisble. This suggested that .toggle() was doing something totally different. If they looked at the event toggle page, it noted it was deprecated and now used for toggling visability. Hence he was blind for not noticing that
I admit, I didn't know it myself either untill they told me I was wrong. So I started thinking as I'd find it extremely odd that a library would use 2 exact same functions for totally different things.
@rlemon Agreed. But my comment wasn't wrong. Just because something happens to work on an old version of a library, doesn't make it valid code. Especially not when the someone tells you what it's doing instead of what you expected it to do.

@SomeKittens Here, for instance, FP may be of help: If addDep returned the new tip of the node and didn't mutate some internal data structure, you could refer and replace nodes as you wish.
It'll require some re-wiring, and may not be as memory efficient. But it's an interesting way to think about it.

@Asperger I mean you should use a variable in his scope only, here it works because var is a bit 'broken' in javascript (it stays defined everywhere after use), but if you used the new let it wouldn't work
