@eddwinpaz Yes. My great-uncle went to one of the best eye surgeons in the East coast to have some operation performed on his eye since he wanted the best care he could get. He paid a lot, and during the procedure, the anaesthesiologist left for some reason, and the surgeon decided to apply it himself into his eye. It blew an artery or something and he's permanently blinded in that eye now.

He didn't take legal action since he had apparently signed papers removing the clinic of any liability. A pretty horrible experience, and a sad reminder of how sloppy even the most reputed places can be.

I'm not an accountant, nor have I studied law, so I may be biased when I say I don't believe either profession is as demanding as programming is in respect to ingenuity, problems solving, ect.

Of course you're doing entirely different stuff, but the amount of scenarios you're exposed to seems a lot broader depending on what people ask you to do, whereas the before-mentioned professions will always ask you to do something within a certain scope.

I don't know, I'm sure you could argue back. It seemed a little irritating to me that someone adding numbers on excel sheets would get paid more (According to Enrico), simply because their profession is somehow interpreted as more valuable than the guys running the company software or whatnot. And in this day and age, I'd say it's only fair you pay them just as well. But thats up to whoever runs the business.

At least until the programmer writes a program that does the accountants job for them. Hehehe
