Okay well I'll explain what it is I want to do and what i'm doing, might help make more sense
I'm wanting to make a selector component at the bottom of the screen. Essentially this selector component will depend on the amount of clubs used by the users in our system, so if they used 3 clubs for teeshots they'll see 3 buttons in the selector.
So to do this I'm adding a button view for every club in the system along with an all button which will give average stats for all the clubs and not just individual ones
these buttons are added into an existing linear layout and the buttons are given background of a custom drawable which sets the buttons to the style I want
One drawable style is a ring, the other an oval. The ring and oval shape sizes are completely different sizes and so it makes it hard to make them look fine unless I specify LayoutParams but there's been no LayoutParams which suit all different screen sizes
I'm thinking that perhaps I should be adding two views programmatically into the LinearLayout for every button, another Layout component and then a button within that component. As I think that'd give me more control in setting the size of the button.
I know a custom view is probably a better alternative but I'm not sure how I'd go about implementing that
[LL] -> [Button] [/LL] = current way atm. I set the text of the button and customization is handled by background property when it's set to drawable file
Only thing is I can change the design of the active button the way it is setup atm. I can easily switch the background, would that still be possible with an imageView?
so you have a couple of circular buttons that always have to be the same size, but the text inside them can vary in length and that fucks up the oval drawable?
the biggest text will be All, everything else will either be one letter (D, P, etc) or two (SW, PW, LW, etc)
I'm also going to have different colors for the border around the images which I had previously tried to implement but it was going absolutely nuts with different colors so I've basically said it wont be done for the demo but I'm going to want to try and get it done for public release
I don't think it changes because of the letters, I actually think it's just the oval drawable shape. If you make an oval shape and in a different drawable file make a ring shape, they're completely different sizes.
Even if you set the size properties to the same height / width
