@JonahSloan This documentation explains the various web services and objects. I have used it to make SOAP calls through SOAPUI. Haven't found any specific example using JAVA.

And for modelling wizard, one could use a single composite component which is made up of stack of wizard components.

That FlowController then has the instance of your service object

So for menu element A you'd actually have inner stack of states (representing A1...An).

When user navigates backward/forward, you just push/pop the state

And since component A is stateful then, your DI should suffice.

Each step group corresponds to a screen in the application

So e.g. one Step Group includes: Step 1 , Step 2. other Step Group includes: Step 3, Step 4

@MadaraUchiha I can create an instance of the data in the Flow Manager and then pass it along to StepGroup instances, and they will pass it along to Step instances

@RonDaniel Dependency injection just means that instead of thinking about trees of object, you think of them as a flat structure

You have this one big component (your DI container, or whatever) that's responsible for building all of your objects, and then wiring them to one another.

In short, you just create your controllers outside of everything, inject the service instance to them, and then inject them to wherever they're needed.

That's how frameworks do it.

How it's done specifically in your framework, I'm not sure.

I consider to take adventage of that

It provides something called Flow Scope

Which is exactly what I want

As you can see, one entity creates all of your objects, then wires them together

A framework does this automatically, you jsut need to figure out how/.

@RonDaniel I did, but unfortunately your image made things less clear for me. It seems you might be mixing terms, using 'flow' and 'step' interchangeably. Overall, you are now going into JavaFX specific with the Flow API which I know nothing about :)

if the user finishes the Step Group, i.e. all the steps in the current screen,

He conitnues to the next Step Group

Step Group -> basically a controller of a screen which contains some steps

Step -> simple step a user needs to pass

From the Menu user can start several flows

each one of them should have the data model

for that particular flow

i made something similar, you make a FlowInstance which holds the data you want to pass around. Each node/step has a trigger(FlowInstance flowInstance) method which receives the flowInstance. each node can then add or read data from the flowInstance.

@RonDaniel You seem to be missing some higher level view. Maybe look up the Composite Pattern and consider that in composite hierarchy you can easily create Enviroment provided to children components from parent. That should be enough for state passing needs.

@RonDaniel in my example i make a flowinstance which can contain whatever you want, which is then being passed along all the nodes you wanna run
