If i have an if clause which has:
if (stuffhappens){
p.setValue(3)
list.add(p)
p.setValue(4)
how can i add element to list for it's value to stay 3? currently it changes to 4..
Nono, i'd like to add element p to the list with value 3 and change the p value to 4 right after adding it in the list but i'd like to keep the value of pinlist as 3.
I'm no pro, but I'd say you need to put in something that somehow ensures that you won't recieve a null at that point. The ways of doing that are many, but your own suggestions sounds reasonable to me.
Or have a try-catch, but I prefer when you try to ensure you won't get a null in the first place.
I have a tree , which contains 4 sub levels, each sub level contains another sub level upto 4 levels ... each sub level contains large data.... nearly 100 records... I have to search on this tree for matches.... its giving memory out of error
do i necessarily need to place reference of my parent objects on child objects.... or is it enough that database handle the relationship of my objects?
uhmm... say for example... you have a school object... then the school has departments... do i need my department objects to store reference to the school object?

before... i would place the parent object itself inside the child object... so that whenever i need access to the parent from the child.. its possible.

Why you cant make debug??debug will not change your svn, neither change the developped code. Netbeans, Eclipse, Intel use the same principles. Your problem is understand your code
Also for the sake of self-containedness, I recommend changing USERNAME.equals(username) in the above line to doesExist(username). Not that it's great or anything.
