Has anyone tried to save a record id for a contact using core data, then load the corresponding record based on the id later? I am trying to extract a phone number after loading the contact record, but it blows up with an EXC_BAD_ACCESS.

you could try using remainders. eg 1455 % 10 == 1356 %10
