I think if you're at a job where your religion prohibits you from doing parts of that job, maybe you should think twice before taking the job and making it harder for everyone
but it's probably not OK to say they have to do it anyway, or that they can't take that job
also I guess you can't reject the applicant based on their religious restrictions
@WarrenFaith Agreed on the fact that people shouldn't take jobs they are unwilling/unable to do fully, but that's why these trainings exist, because people insist on accepting the jobs and then complaining/suing/etc. :D

From my experience from here, people are afraid to question their religion. They are afraid to find the reasoning behind them. This is why, "hand sanitizer is haram I want something without alcohol" type of people come out
It's the other developer that setup this project from the ground but I have refactored almost everything until now (small app only) I was thinking this package id has been integrated someway in the Firebase as I can see some .json files with similar structure to the file given by the Firebase when you create a project there.
Also, we the previous developer opt-in with the offer of Google to store the keystore themselves
I was also thinking there may be a keystore mismatch when I signed the bundle file versus when the PlayStore signing the app
@RaghavSood yes. I have filled the SHA1 of my release.keystore. Both the credential dedicated for Android and Web are working fine but not after I deployed it to the PlayStore
If I upload this same signed apk to other server and install it via adb tool, the Google login will work.
@mr5 you have to use web token (token used on the backend, the one thats going to do actuall authentication), also you have to create oAuth clients for all build variants you have for your app
thats not mentioned in the docs, and those tokens are generally not used anywhere, but you have to create them anyway
@mr5 also, yes, firebase has the info about your package-id/signature stored on the console
@IvanMilisavljevic yes I have already tried this as well but I avoid using the web tokens because they are basically for web although it would also work for the app.
@RaghavSood oh interesting to know. I'll just rephrase what you said, Google will re-sign the app with another keystore right? So I just need to know if the same keystore are used? But how?

Polling question. I understand that while ideally your companies code base would follow every programming paradigm exactly, in reality, it doesn't. However, I am wondering how well does your companies codebase respect MVC and line of communication between the three?

@Ahmad i disagree with many of your points. All news stations and media anywhere have certain biases. They are also a business meaning they may pander to their audience. Other times, they legit make mistakes. Everyone and everything makes mistakes, the media is not an exception. You also need to separate the news from talk show pundits. Even as a democrat, I recognize that Fox News' actual news coverage, is comparable to every other news station (for the most part)....
...however their talk show hosts are terrible. They lie, deceive, and should pay large fines for misinformation. Other stations, including CNN and MSNBC, have the exact same issues but often to a less degree. The pundits at CNN and MSNBC have more accurate facts often. With respect to bias, CNN is not that bias as they are made out to seem. Multiple studies have shown that compared to news in general, they only lean a bit liberal. MSNBC is much more.
JBis: leaving out their bias, one thing that bothers me is the fact that it's a business, and with every business you have to somehow make money, and nowadays it's only possible to do that if you sensationalise everything
so you end up with these idiotic takes don't really add anything of value but are entertaining
for reference: in germany everyone pays 30 euros a month for the state media (which operates independently)
@Ahmad Yes, but that is unavoidable for the most part. However, there are plenty of US media that is very good and doesn't pander at all. In fact, CNN, MSNBC, and just about everyone else (including NY Times) does very little original reporting. 80% of their news stories are from apnews.com and reuters.com which have very little bias, no pundits, and only report bare fact.
Think about this, all election data comes from AP news. All those fancy graphs and shit CNN and others like to use are just formated data from AP's API.

Now I am no security expert at all so if I'd develop an app for the public market I would just hand it over to a secutiry team and let them layer the secutiry parts... or am I wrong?
