I am now ranting unconstructively.

I agree that it shouldn't, and I downvoted the post that established the precedent of allowing political commentary in names. But The Company decided it was okay, so I figured it was a legitimate outlet after the news of this morning.

@halfer Apparently yes, but I thought it was a Literature moderator, because the system used my user ID from Literature as the replacement name. So I didn't think the moderators here (or the community managers) were the ones objecting.

Nobody sent me a message explaining the change, so I guess I misinterpreted where it came from.

I did consider making a post on Literature meta, because the only signal I had was that it had come from the Literature moderators.

but given that I don't participate in that community, that seemed silly.

I have an account on all sites as a matter of habit.

@halfer Yes. Originally because it let me get 10k chat privileges prematurely because it added them up incorrectly, and later out of obsessive completionism.

Well, the wording of my suspension suggests that it was the insult/accusation ("traitor!") that was problematic, so a pure call-to-action like that might get through. But if you get suspended, don't blame me. :P
