@kayess hahaha - if I had any objections to Ed being a mod, he'd have heard it from me by now. Heck, I voted for him because I know he has the "character" required to be a mod.
Honestly, my fellow mods on here are some of the most impressive people I know. I'm regularly blown away by how professionally certain people handle epic ^@*(@#){{}@#! storms.
@EdCottrell You and all of the other mods I have ever interacted with do a great job. Your's and others example is one of the reasons I am going to run for mod in the next election. You guys do a lot of work and it is very appreciated
Question for you guys. How would you handle something like this post? He's copied a comment from the OP, and then asked the OP to mark it as his answer.
I was wondering how I can achieve this. I have a variable number that has a value of 0 by default. Then I have a formula: var formula = 2 + 2; What I would like to have is when number is not zero, but another numb it will be added to the formula 2+2, so the formule will be 2 + 2 + number;
@FrankerZ Unsure what to do about the answer but it seems to me the solution is at the typo-level: OP forgot to close <module>. So the question should be closed.
@Machavity True story: When ChrisF was elected mod for Stack Overflow, some internal systems borked because there was an assumption that anyone having more than 5 diamonds is automatically an SE employee. He was the first person to be elected moderator on 5 different sites.
@FrankerZ it really depends. If the Q is going to get deleted then just let it go with the Q. If the Q should stay but the A is garbage then flag(if appropriate), down vote, vote to delete.

@Tunaki Now that I've installed that chrome extension to be notified by Smokey when being active here, I see it would be a nice option to specify what I consider active. In fact I want to be pinged as long I didn't leave the room and keep the tab open. Did I miss something?

I'm getting pretty close to the reputation where I can start to edit others' posts, and I'm wondering what the etiquette for when (and when not) to do so.
I figure that I should edit in the following circumstances:
Grammatical or spelling errors.
Clarification where the meaning is not changed....
@Braiam The point in both of those is not to change the meaning of the question. Nothing in the comments in the question I had linked to in any way have OP clarify the meaning of their question. Everything was assumed. I felt the edit didn't represent what the OP was asking about.
clarify meaning without changing it -> That's not what that editor did, imo. Now all answers are concentrating on the Runnable example for creating threads, which doesn't seem to be the original intent at all

I always complete my works in fast and quick .I don't believe only talking. I believe talking with work. I always agree to take challenge by myself what i do.
Substantial code but explanation written in Spanish. I don't trust Google Translate. (It can produce translations with subtle mistakes.) And my Spanish is not good enough to translate it myself. OP got 2 comments already asking to translate and made an edit post-comments that did not do anything re translating. NAA? Custom flag? Other solution?

@ryanyuyu Someone who is lazy or who is riding on a high horse thinking that they'll make a stand for diversity. I could easily take code that I've written myself with English comments and all and decide to post the explanations in French for some misguided reason.
