I still use it for animations and some normalization, but only because I don't want to focus on that part of my project right now. I'm writing it so it'll be very easy to go back and replace with it my own implementations.

that's pretty much what octavian meant. Media Queries are the way to go here

Moreover CSS3 media queries will also be faster then javascript by miles

you are passing an id as argument to the funtion, but you aren't using it

What you should have used is window.innerWidth and window.innerHeight.

However CSS media queries are the best option for your use case.

but... they don't work in ie7

the css media query probably wont work for me as the div i want to make disappear if the screen size is less than 1100 is a static on the left hand side inside of a container that is set as width:100%

And you're not passing anything to encode...you're trying to eval an html document. Monitor the requests to see it.

Or, really, just look. A request from index.html -> index.html

So you should've given the answers a second look, because they're right.

ya there... because i specified json_encode($lang) <-- the $lang variable which is an array of strings...

Text is text, how you treat it is what matters. php doesn't know why you sent this http request, and even if it did, how can it know which parts to include in the response?

If you want to have a request who's output is the JSON-encoded array, then make that page or make your page react differently for some parameters (like a GET or POST variable.)
