The review queue is taking a really long time to load each question, for some reason

I got an error this time, it won't load the next question

"An error occurred when loading the review item. Please try again."

Q: Loading next item from the Close Vote Queue ends in an error

I'm filtering on a specific tag in the CVQ over on SO where I'm pretty sure the queue doesn't have much review tasks left. After the loading takes incrementaly longer1 on every next item from the queue I'm finally greeted with: I assume this is because the queue is emptied. On prior occasions...

As a regular close vote review tasks handler I'm pretty used to the user experience, including the performance of load times of the next review task. When reviewing close votes I'm always filtered on c# and off-topic. I primarily use IE11 as my browser on WIN7. The last week or so I notice that...

The last time I was on SO a lot was when they first made the review queue, so I don't know how a lot of the new stuff works

most of it involves magic knobs turned by Shog9

I think he actually lives inside the internet

Holy **** this review queue is pissing me off with how slowly it loads.

Some people say the internet is a series of tubes, when in reality it's just Shog with a lot of drinking straws

I mean, according to Aristotle people are a series of hydraulic tubes so it all makes sense now

We've cracked the code...

I don't know. I guess I'm lucky and I don't have these problems

So this is funny... I'm filtering by only asp.net but it gave me a question with the [json] tag but not the one I'm filtering by...

Main thing is that you know people are gonna be looking for this issue, so even though it's broad I'd leave it up and hope someone eventually post the solution. It's not a "give me teh codez" question either.
