Suppose I really really dislike jokes about germans, since I get these on a semi-regular basis even on SO. Do I have the right to have every chatroom I'm in cease to make those? Nor do remarks about balls, tits, sexual orientations, religions, or whatever

Joking about random stuff (cabbages in the Python room, waffles, various animals) is fine since no one is really aimed. Those are our memes

If it slips by, then very well

If someone feels uncomfortable about it (not even offended or whatever, just uncomfortable) it should be obvious that we should stop

If you're with people that react to literally anything pointing out any group, then yes it'll grow boring very quickly (no more PHP jokes)

But some people will react poorly to some kinds of jokes
