@HenryEcker well, when one is throwing stones at a former mod on a matter they are basically the source of the debacle, I'd expect a bit more careful argumentation than cherry-picking out of context :)

although given that earlier I've had my words twisted and paraded as an example of defending the tag, I don't feel very charitable in interpreting it as forgetting to check the sources :)

So uh. I just had a thought that another option for a MSO faq link in the "Not about programming" close guidance could be an answer to Question Close Reasons - Definitions and Guidance instead of a separate FAQ. I don't know if there's any real advantage to that or not, but creating a resource which could be linked to close reasons was part of why that specific Q&A was created.
