@MartijnPieters I know full well what it is about. I'm objecting to being chastised publicly and privately. I have been told to 'fk' off many times on this site and nothing has been done. I have had men malign me and be supported in that and I am not impressed that I am called out publicly as well as privately. Other people seem to be able to do whatever they please.

but the authentication device was my phone

I got a new phone, and there's no way to make my new phone my new authentication device

or turn of authentication, because I can't log in without providing a code from my authentication device

So I have to submit a ticket to Amazon support, and then they call me back sometime in the next 15 minutes which is absolutely horrendous

because if I miss the call or can't work with them when they call, I can't just call back, I have to submit another ticket

I guess, technically, I do still have my old phone, and I could put it in airplane mode and just switch on wifi

I don't need a mobile network for that

@Kyll it's a pretty stupid implementation imho. The reasoning is that when it's a dupe it is a signpost, and if it has an accepted answer, there's a helpful solution for the problem. I'd say that posts which go beyond some -5 can be roomba'd as well, regardless of dupe/accepted answer, as they apparently do not adhere to SO standards for a good and useful question.
