Hi, I used VBreformer to decompile an exe program which we have used in our group for more than 20 years. We need the back-end calculations. But what I can see are very vague arguments, not so clear variables, too iterative sub-routines...

Are these type of decompilers usually doing it like this?

I am not a professional programmer, but I think they mainly focus on the GUI decompilation, not the backend subroutines or formulas...

Could you give me some guide?

but it is better to make it a question on SO because then others with similar questions could find it

generally speaking, a compiler would get rid of all the information that is not mandatory for the application to run

such as comments as well as variable names

it also can inline a lot of stuff and unfold loops and stuff

the decompiler would have a difficult job reverting such processes

@Wietlol thank you wietlol, wow, so it seems the decompilation is done correctly. I should chase the codes and modules which appear to see what relates to what...

Too tough indeed

and that is assuming the .exe wasnt compiled with an obfuscator

which makes it even worse for a decompiler to do its job
