my questions earn a lot of upvotes recently, and.. now, Stackoverflow appreciates questions as answers.. right?

I initialized a class in the constructor but then it suddenly equals null.

I wonder why it's so.

I also assigned deckSize a value in the same constructor, and it's not null, it's okay, it equals 52, as it should be.

Would such question be too stupid to ask on the main site?

@CopperKettle you hid the field myDeck when you defined it locally in the constructor

so you are setting the local variable at clsCardDeck myDeck = new clsCardDeck();, not the class scope field

it should be myDeck = new clsCardDeck();

For some reason Visual Studio keeps telling me that index is out of range, and it isn't, it equals 0, which is in range.

The string has 13 letters, thus I set up the loop to repeat until i == 12

Ah! I got it. Haha.

The card1 string is empty, so card1[0] is out of range.

I wonder how could a programmer understand exactly what is out of range if a single line contains two strings.

Each of the two may be out of range, is there a way to know for sure?

I would first check the length of the 2 arrays, than call card1.Zip(card2) and go from there

Btw instead of screenshots write some formatted (ctrl+k) code
