I tried to do something
I figured it didnt work the way it was designed to work
I got advice to not do it the way it was designed to work
I then saw how to achieve how to do it the way it was designed to work
I then chose to not follow the advice of disregarding the way it was designed to work
now it works

I would favour typeahead over select2

give your <select id="youridhere"> an id like i just did

A class works too

Then $('#youridhere').select2();

but that needs to be in a $(function() { }); || $(document).ready(function() { }); otherwise it doesn't work

does there have to be a select tag for it to work

Select2 is still good now

just like jQuery

then you can just $('.select2me').select2();

you could create the select2 based on the select element, however that would then also get all the select elements on the page unless you explictly targeted all the select children of .myOtherClass

But, that's personal preference//dealers choice

Since fetch api is out, jQuery is dead for me :D

I'll just stick to $.ajax for the time being >:)

Blazor is something that Microsoft is implementing

allows you to use c# instead of javascript :D

@Raimonds it then converts your c# to web assembly and then that gets compiled and ran in yer browser

so you can get your blazor frontend code to run on the server

I prefer to use apis

so backend only sends json data

not UI

My belief is that data should drive your presentation

So whatever is my frontend is just representation of data I receive

I don't want any html css or js logic in my backend stuff

T-SQL strikes again!
I have a Table with a Column `SortingNumber` and `Parent`.

I want to update the `SortingNumber` per "Parent-Group".
I.e. All the `SortingNumber`s for Rows where `Parent = 1` shall be numbered incrementelly, starting with 1, then 2 and so on. The same goes for Rows with `Parent = 2` etc.

I am at the point where I have a Variable which gets sets to 1 on the first record and gets incremented by 1 for every other record.
Now the problems arises because i want to filter it by `Parent`.
