Without knowing what error messages you're getting, it's impossible to answer your question. You're going to have to change something, if the act of downgrading the .NET version supported gives you error messages.

I saw a discussion the other day about how high-rep users are contributing less and less.

And I see that problem easily. Main problem, for me, is that earlier, a year or two ago, when the site was still young, you got programmers who actively searched for information, and then stumbled upon Stack Overflow. The fact that they were out searching for information meant that they ranked above average in experience and knowledge already.

So you had much higher quality questions.

Now 19 out of 20 questions are duplicate or questions you know is a bees nest, attempt to answer and it'll spawn 3 new questions in the process.

Like most questions we get in here. They're not asked on Stack Overflow because we have to drag all the details out of the person asking.

But why should I care? If I see a question I "know" is a duplicate, do you think I'll take time to investigate another question to see if it's really worth salvaging anything from it?

@SyedFarjadZiaZaidi: Stack Overflow, this room, and a Q&A site is not the right place for "an introduction". You need either a book, a class, or a 1-on-1 session with an experienced programmer. A busy room won't do you any good.
