Are you guys still using Rstudio or have moved on to greener pastures? Lately on my computer Rstudio has behaved really bad. Takes ages for it to source a rmarkdown chunk, takes up a lot of computer resources, crashes randomly... I've tried stable and unstable versions, always to the same effect. I'm on Fedora.

@RomanLuštrik hmm notepad++ and regular R (yes yes, I'm old, I know :-) )

I have 2 screens so script on one and R on the other

works fine for me

@RomanLuštrik no problems currently; as I use RStudio on both macOS and Windows, it could be a Linux specific issue (or even distribution specific)

@RomanLuštrik I use RStudio Server on an ubuntu server. It's very stable. (I could finally justify developing a package again. :).

Nice, thank you for your input. The notepad++ was a shocker, tho. :D

@Jaap I know a few people that do that. Very curious.

Many of my co-worker are using VS code though. It seem to be better but taking some time to get used to

VS code works nicely with both, also supports jupyter notebooks

I'm actually able to connect to a remote Jupyter server locally from VS code

Setting it up reminds me of Eclipse + StatET.

It comes barebones, and then you spend 1 day just installing and configuring all the plugins.

This is where PyCharm excels, comes more or less out of the box.
