@RomanLuštrik now you're asking too much. I just stole some code from a PHP question and passed it off as my own genius.

I think the %s just means it returns a character string.

ahh..yes! sprintf("first: %1$f third %3$s second: %2$s first again: %1$s", 1, 2, 3)
