@joshua Before we go to deep into this: The floating point numbers 3.3 and 3.30 are exactly the same.

That means padding 3.3 to 3.30 makes no sense. They are one and the same. "Transforming" one into the other is the identity transformation.

"I have a car and a pet. How can I put them together to create a carpet?"
