in general phonegap or cordova creates a simple android or ios project that is like a template and puts a webview inside of each

the webview basically displays an html page and runs the scripts you made

downsides of such: can't run any background services. can't run anything while javascript isn't fully loaded

also obviously its not fully reliable since iOS has one type of webview and android another so they will have a different understanding of css

and different understanding of js

you can actually modify the internal MainActivity, inject Services, etc.. basically, you still have full access to native development but it's not PhoneGap though

Anyone seen the issue in VS 2017 where you use IIS Express and then once you close it the entire VS stops you from editing files, says there is an exception that occured and you can find it in log file
