Hum. For some reason I can't get the logging example in the Pyramid quick tutorial working. I've gone so far as to diff the files with what's shown in the tutorial to make sure they're essentially the same, but I'm not seeing the debug messages in console and the logging tag in the debug toolbar is greyed out.

It looks as though the logging configuration in development.ini here won't actually log debug messages to console since the root handler level is set to INFO... or am I crazy

I don't understand why there's no handler set for the tutorial logger unless the default configuration Pyramid uses is to handle the logger in the debug toolbar

Are CSRF tokens generated per session or per pageload/view rendering? Seems like the former would do nothing, but the Pyramid docs are a little unclear

I'm not clear on who exactly has knowledge of the token, and how it offers protection. So, client visits foo.com, gets session cookie, then browses reddit for a while before ending up at bar.net

Some link on bar.net tries to load a sensitive URL at foo.com

Client still has their session cookie, but must not have any knowledge of the CSRF token? Or else it wouldn't help. But if the token is generated on the view accessed by that sensitive URL, that doesn't help either... so the token must be generated beforehand?
