@DenysSéguret not that it would've helped avoid the breakage in your case (if your crate depends on "1.0", then Cargo will pick up 1.1.0)
one way to avoid breakage like this would be for the source code of all packages to be transformed into an "elaborated" version (where every symbol is referenced in a fully-qualified form) when they're published on crates.io
