Plus the fact that the set of possible parameters here is not aligned in a bullet list or something of the sort.

This is tricky. Right now vector element borrows are not granular unless with suitable methods (split). An Index operation will just borrow the whole thing.

I've spent many minutes trying to be sure the doc specifies it's not one. I'm still unsure I understood all the branches of the doc and how to tell it's not one of A, or B, or C, or D which are valid outerattributes or patterns that are ok when matching on a value...

@DenysSéguret I doubt this will ever be possible. IndexMut is designed so that a[0] and a[1] might be the same element. How could you teach the compiler that it's OK to have &mut references to both?

The number of issues I stumble upon when my seemingly working code fails in Rust 1.13.0 is actually significant. I'll take this as a good thing.

@PeterHall I just have a library with a guaranteed minimum rustc version.

If current code doesn't work in that one, it's a bug. If I bump the minimum version, then I consider that a breaking change.

So I've preferred to make a few tweaks to the code instead of bumping that one.

So I made this terminal application which probably has some users as it has more than 100 stars on GH. But nobody cares enough to help me make a better code (apart the occasional comments related to clippy)

It works well and fast... but I'm sure the code could be much better with a deeper knowledge of Rust. Even if I hang here all the time I still didn't have much time to learn Rust

I looked at the profiles. Most look like real programmers (and interestingly enough I find more go and python in their repositories than rust). Hard to tell their level in Rust
