@MatthieuM. That is relevant to my interests. Could make an easier pathway towards cross-compiling to retro machines once it becomes more mature.
In particular, LLVM does not target the base i386 instruction set reliably.

Doesn't rustc_codegen_gcc work for this purpose? It seems likely to be ready before gccrs.

gccrs would be useful for compiling _on_ the retromachine.
