I changed the link of my default page from P.SE site to P.SE chat. And with a couple of other member, we decided to stay online even if no activity. Result: since a week or two we have a chat that is actually used
@LasseVKarlsen I've been thinking on whether there's any good way to fix that scenario, but I'm not sure there is. It seems that a majority of the top users in given subjects tend to not participate in chat...on the other hand, the JavaScript room, which has Nick Craver, Andy E and others seems to be fairly active.
I check chat every now and then, but for my primary topic (php) it's usually pretty quiet. Maybe scheduled events (like this one) would be a good use of it.

@GeorgeStocker I thought the rule was something like "you can delete your own question if none of the answers have upvotes" or something, but apparently not since those answers are doing pretty well
@Justin I don't -- but that's only because now the questions will be where they belong and you won't have new people going, "But, but, but, you used to be able to ask "favorite Frisbee for a programmer" here."
Speaking of which, anyone else depressed by comment flags on SO now that we can see them? Other people's definition of "offensive" is apparently very different from mine
@MichaelMrozek Oh, are you just talking about the 10k tools? I thought you meant that the comments themselves were marked with something to indicate whether they've been flagged or not.
I'm thankful when it doesn't end up as a meta post decrying the horror of anonymous downvoting and ending with a proposal to require comments on downvotes

It's theraputic to clean house. I figure if I'm going to continue to vote to close questions that belong somewhere else, I should really start with myself.
I remember when there was a high reputation user back in the day that would delete any comment that he didn't like on his posts (this was when 10K users could arbitrarily delete comments). What's funny is that ability was removed shortly thereafter.
@JustinjjnguyNelson Yeah, and it was a huge fight to convince Jeff otherwise. Now we have a constant stream of people asking to downvote comments, develop a comment hiearchy, etc.
I do believe that if we're going to have a 'List of X' question, then the only way to have a good result would be to have one canonical answer ,like this: stackoverflow.com/questions/194812/…

@Michael you'd think it should, but you'd be surprised how many questions on meta start with 'My question was wrongly closed' even though it was correctly closed, just the wrong reason got listed.
@badp That's why I started using so.mrozekma.com, so if I ever take my server down I can hopefully move the SO images to dedicated hosting and not break hundreds of images in posts
