@rene the "pattern-matching website" rule in findspam.py looks at the regex starting on line 2070 ... I guess it could be tweaked to exclude SO / SE / etc

bisect only looks at the external lists so would not tell you anything about what goes on inside the (other) rules in findspam.py

TP for a domain is just an indirect indicator; we TP or FP on individual posts, some of which will always contain domains which dominantly are in posts of the other kind

it is not entirely uncommon for a spam post to link to Google, or Amazon, or Fiverr, but those are not "spam domains" as such

(Fiverr borderline as far as posts in metasmoke are concerned, but more generally a legit service)

they don't particularly need to be external, the logic of bisect could be updated to cover everything in findspam.py but technically it's not terribly clear how to meaningfully report anything more than "the rule which triggered is the one which triggers"

what bisect actually does (as the name suggests) is disable half of the list at a time to drill down to the one which actually triggers; but the other rules in findspam.py are not in a shape where this can realistically be done

I guess something like Python's ast module could be used to reason about the code but that's a nontrivial effort

@CardinalSystem Isn't there a duplicate? Also what the question title is asking seems different to what the answers are answering. I'd expect something closer to How To limit the number of characters in JTextField? to be the answer. Rather than "how to count digits in a string".

Also, if it's literally just "how to use regex to count number of digits* I'm sure we have multiple duplicates. Probably in the three digit range.

@VLAZ I think it should be closed for a different reason. The C# question that was linked it in no way related, so (at the very least) something else should be linked. Generally we don't reopen posts just to close them for another reason... that being said, a dupe closure that is not a dupe (or uses a bad target) is certainly one of the more preferable things to get changed (as we don't want to redirect users to wrong information)... if there are three users here standing by ready to re-close it for an appropriate reason, we could probably reopen it and then re-close it immediately

I do also agree that the dupe doesn't make real sense. Even if it was for Java it's not relevant. But OP is the one who accepted the dupe, that's why it was closed.

@mickmackusa I was not saying you were weak (or that you were anything, personally) :-) Just that the behavior of earning the Peer Pressure badge is more admirable than intentionally avoiding it. In other words, it looks better on you for having it than not, if you have posts that you think qualify. Or to put it another way, it reflects the point of having a badge--you have valuably interacted with the system in some novel way :-)

When a mod deletes a post, regular users can't undelete it: "A moderator has deleted this post and it cannot be undeleted". Is there some kind of mod-only undelete queue for mod-deleted posts that have been edited by their author?

@Chris No, mods aren't alerted in anyway when a user edits a post that was mod-deleted

One exception might be if there are excessive rollback wars, which do automatically trigger mod flags... I say "might" because I'm not sure if deleted posts are monitored for that

@TylerH the post I'm looking at (along with many of the user's other posts) was deleted via my mod flag about unattributed links. The user is experienced (>100k rep) and I imagine they can submit their own mod flag once they've fixed the problem... is that how I should leave it? I can only see one of the posts to know that it's been fixed; I have no idea about the rest.

Yeah, they should definitely know they can cast their own mod flags to undelete mod-deleted content

you're not under any obligation to constantly monitor posts you've flagged for edits so that you can flag again for undeletion review

@miken32 Yes, I am "used to" revenge votes hitting my correct and demo'ed content -- this is why I don't usually take any action when one of my answers received a no-comment downvote.

The Peer Pressure badge / Badge of Shame is an indication that the contributor posted something that the community didn't like. But in cases where there is no clear & valid justification for the negative score and my answer is convincingly correct (to me), then I would just be surrendering to bullies. I'm not in high school anymore, I know what bullies thrive on, I'm not giving them what they want.

If someone would have posted earlier that my answer was confusing (like RyanM did), I would have improved it. In my own head, the answer was fine.

Downvotes are barely informative.
