@Cristik I've handled this one, but in the future, please don't post things that basically amount to a request-in-all-but-formatting (per FAQ #27, with some additional discussion of "disguised request[s]" in another context in FAQ #15).

@RyanM not sure I fully follow, do you mean posting a regular *-pls request and justify why I think it should be considered even if some of the criteria are not matched, or just let it go, and don't link the post here?

@Cristik Just let it go and don't link the post here. If there were some reason that one was particularly bad (maybe it's showing up in search results for some common question that it doesn't help with) then I'd say justify it, but there are numerous unclosed typo questions, and that one doesn't seem particularly noteworthy. You can, of course, close vote it and hope the queue handles it.

Does posting three near-identical NAAs in quick succession warrant a special flag, or should we just let the normal process handle them?

this q/a smells a bit fishy (or spammy) to me. The user 'BNI API Management' signed up on 5:35, then at 6:01 someone asks how to create a JWT for BNI API (with a link), 4 minutes later BNI Mangement answered (repeating the link) and immediately the answer gets accepted and upvoted.

neither the question nor the answer are specific to said API, it's just about creating a normal JWT, no need to even mention the API.

@mickmackusa Hmmmmm. There's probably an objective way to describe the tradeoffs between one query and multiple. Though I'd be surprised if there weren't already a dupe for that.

This room has a Frequently Asked Questions page, which describes that this room is for discussing user-level moderation of posts on the main Stack Overflow site.

I understand your desire to post your messages in a room that has a lot of recent traffic, but you should resist that desire. In most rooms, people tend to react negatively, sometimes very negatively, when an unknown person comes in and asks about something that's not on-topic for the room, particularly if it's quite a bit off-topic. Prior to posting in any room, I strongly recommend you read the room's description and any FAQ or other information page(s) linked from the description.

Overall, this isn't the right room for what you are asking about. You might want to try looking at the list of rooms on Stack Overflow Chat, and/or the list of rooms on Stack Exchange Chat. Those pages have a search function, which might help you find a room that's appropriate for what you want.

It (should be) trivially doable without employees though. IIRC, it's another event, and there's built-in support for additional listeners

@gunr2171 The question is about the usage of the if, so I think the tag is appropriate on it.

personally, I just view the question as "I have a problem, and it just so happens to include an if statement. The problem's symptoms are visible because of the If, but the fix is somewhere else." But meh, this is not the hill I'm dying on today.

@gunr2171 silly fire. Yes, the if statement is running twice but it's not the if statements fault, it's something else. Since the Q isn't actually about the intricacies of the if statement itself I say it's not needed but I probably wouldn't remove it unless I ran out of tag space

@gunr2171 This presupposes knowing the answer, though. It is in fact via our knowledge of how if statements work that we know that the if statement is not running twice, but instead that the method is getting called twice.

So in a sense, we've applied our if-statement subject matter expertise to solve their problem.

@TylerH I think it might depend on age - if they have had it for a long time, it is not deducted. However IMO it is quite right to remove it there, as it is a knowing and egregious dup.

@TylerH The usual rules apply. If the answer has score of at least 3 and visible for at least 60 days all reputation earned on the post is kept (including from bounties).

@DaImTo It's never too late. There is still an ongoing project Overhauling our community's closure reasons and guidance. We may want to fill our now open closure spot with something entirely new.
