@miken32 While I could imagine a C++ answer being responsive to an assembly question where it was reasonable to write something in C++ and call it from assembly, this is not such a case. It's NAA in my book.

Do you folks usually flag cases of someone deleting an answer and posting it again to evade downvotes?

@E_net4thecommentflagger if I have access to the original post then yes, provided I didn't already spend my close vote before noticing (which is unfortunately rather common)

that's only possible when the earlier post was linked from somewhere, though; frequently this is the case when it was reported by Smoke Detector

Not sure about a case, for example, where a non-English answer is VLQ flagged, then edited (getting a downvote); so, the OP deletes that and reposts a new version (in English).

@AdrianMole What happened was that the original version of the answer was not self contained. An edit had been made to fix that, but by then it had already garnered downvotes.

I think we would have not had a problem with the non-self-contained answer being deleted without an edit, and a new, self-contained one being posted...so that's kind of okay.

But if the form of answer that got the votes was substantially the same as the reposted one, then definitely flag it.

@E_net4thecommentflagger So, that's not quite what happened there...the answer was deleted (incorrectly) by reviewers, hopefully most of whom voted before the edit... They then reposted the fixed answer.

Well, 3/5 reviewers got it right...2 were incorrect.

@mickmackusa both based on "I want to compare current date's day and month with subscription date's day and month only" (sounds like wanting to check if a subscription is valid...although I admit I don't understand why they wouldn't want to check the year) and the fact that they accepted the one answer that did a greater-than comparison. That said, a closer look at the deleted "thanks" comments does make this a lot less clear.
