I don't intend to do much. I don't think I can do much. Seems the user had a string of zero scored posts and their latest one was downvoted. I don't think I can really do anything to change their decision.

I'm keeping an eye for further vandalism but that's it.

@mickmackusa if that is all to it then yes. Why type of questions might be valuable if they ask "why doesn't PHP allow X because now I have to do Y and Z every time instead". Answers to that question will learn us more about X and might even offer an alternative to overcome the perceived problem of using Y and Z.

@Shree @tripleee There's not an overwhelmingly conclusive FAQ on the subject, but there are several one-off questions on Meta, which all say (more or less) that questions about time complexity, big O notation, or high level algorithms in general (e.g. not applied to a specific programming problem) should not be asked on Stack Overflow, but should be asked on Computer Science instead.

Excel internally uses a int for representing dates since a epoch, sometimes, documents with date formatting are changed to numbers, which gives you said integer.

I'd like a moderator to help me with a script. Someone :) helped me to find specific types of reviews, and I'd like to know if moderators will see the same as mortals do on those. And if they do not.. I'd be happy if at some point a (doesn't need to be the same one) volunteering moderator would install my script to verify that it works as intended.

What about rollbacks -- do they push a question back into the re-open queue? (I would guess not). In fact, I'm in the midst of a "rollback war" as we speak

@eyllanesc It's an unfortunate state of affairs, but using this site to the most productive requires some significant and detailed knowledge of the consequences of each user action. I read Makyens message as a piece of advice to that end.

pushing something to the reopen queue via edit that isn't ready to be reopened takes away the OP's ability to push their own post to the reopen queue with an edit.

@BaummitAugen Okay, I understand the advice but I think the single edit has a negative effect on the site. What would generate the negative effect would be the reopening but for this there are already clear rules and therefore sanctions.

However, consuming the question's single entry-by-edit into the reopen queue for an edit which doesn't make the question reopenable is detrimental to the question/site/OP, because it makes it substantially less likely that the question will be reopened when/if the OP edits the question into shape. It is substantially preferable that the edit takes place in a manner which doesn't result in consuming that single entry-by-edit.

The chat messages to which I linked provided a method which will result in any edits by you not pushing the question into the reopen queue. The method requires raising a flag on the question and then retracting it.

You are not "wrong" in the sense of the word prohibited ofc when you do sth you think is beneficial, even if it turns out there are effects that make the action not optimal.

@KevinB Edits by anyone, other than the OP, who has voted to close, voted to reopen (major catch 22 on reopen voting), and/or flagged the question with a flag other than "in need of moderator intervention" will not push the question into the reopen queue.

@Makyen It would be recommended that this information (recommendation) is published on an official site (for example the tour) and not only as knowledge of some (at least I had not read any of these recommendations). So with clear rules for everyone we can improve our actions. :-)

@eyllanesc Yeah, that would be nice. So would having the system changed such that it doesn't need us to jump through hoops to not have the system do something that's detrimental. Fortunately, it looks like they are actually at least looking at changing how all this works (which, if it happens, will probably happen before we could get the official documentation changed).

@Makyen There is a lot of knowledge from experienced moderators that only appears in meta discussions but not in official documentation causing many to be lost. For example, what consequence does our editions generate in each context? When is it not advisable to make an edition? According to the rules as they are, you can do any edition if you have the privileges to do so but do not point out the consequences.

@eyllanesc Yeah, this issue is one which is really unfortunate. It's a case where the system design is quite poor. People, such as yourself, are editing to improve the post, which they really should do and be able to do without negative consequences. Unfortunately, for closed questions, there's the serious negative of edits automatically pushing the question into the reopen queue, regardless of if the editor intended that to happen, or even knew that their edit had the possibility of doing that.

@eyllanesc Those are implementation minutae. It should happen what most users expect to happen.
