Like, I really really don't want to come off as a racist or anything but a lot of Vietnamese posts that I have seen turn out to be spam. So, I just want to say that it is worth it to translate and checking such posts. SE doesn't have a Vietnamese site so this applies network-wide. I am not trying to single out Vietnamese in any way and I am not saying that Vietnamese posts are always spam or that Vietnamese people are spammers. I am just talking from past experience.

@Yatin yeah, I always put those posts into Google Translate. You don't want to red flag an honest non-english coding problem nor do you want to leave a friendly welcoming comment to translate their posts to spammers. Just imagine those spammers start feeling cozy here and up their efforts ;)

I just got revenge down voted once (maybe twice, not sure). I'm not sure it will come up in scripts as it's not serial but I'm pretty sure of it being "revenge". I got a down-vote and a comment at the same time from a user whose question was just closed (and I made the mistake of commenting trying to be helpful...). Should I flag?

yeah I always try not to get "sucked in" to prolonged arguments, but I do like to comment when I down/close vote. I like to give my reasoning to the OP to help them improve. I guess sometimes it falls on angry audience...

@Tomerikoo yep. IMO the tooltips provide enough context about what the respective votes mean. I've learned the hard way to just apply the site's recommended vote and move on. If the OP is open to reason and follows the guidelines, then sure a comment to nudge in the right direction is ok. But just the mere fact that the OP deleted and reposted without edit to get around previous close is signal enough to me what to expect if I were to comment.

@Tomerikoo Posts should be judged based on their merits to the site and community by extension. The post in question, in its current state added no value to the site or to future viewers of that post.

It is rather broad for even SMEs to narrow down for it to be beneficial to others. Time spent moderating the site is also voluntary, so try to avoid wasting that precious time.

@Double-expresso I think mods don't see much context when reviewing flags. If it's a "thank you" answer it's usually more obvious (but I still leave a helpful comment also noting and linking to the copied answer). In case of plagiarism like this, I use a custom flag. Something like "Possible plagiarism: Exact copy of How to Answer(...) etc."

Else it looks like a legit answer and, judging by angry MSO posts and what mods sometimes tell, many people use NAA or VLQ flags to report technically incorrect answer. So better only use NAA or VLQ when it's only clear from the post itself that something's wrong.

Mod doesn't generally see comments under question. Bad or wrong answer subject of DV not flagged.

With the changes to the "Low quality posts" queue, are we still supposed to pick "Looks OK" for wrong answers? The gloss for "Looks OK" is This post is good as-is and not low quality. which is certainly not true for a wrong answer.

The picture from You're doing it wrong: A plea for sanity in the Low Quality Posts queue says to downvote and comment wrong answers, not delete.

@dbc It is true. Because it is an answer. It might be wrong, it might be an answer for another question, but the point is that it is an answer. The queue is to detect posts which are low-quality independently of the question. Like "thank-yous", link-only, the oh-so-common "I'm having the same problem" etc...

If the answer is simply wrong or un-related it should be down-voted and a comment to the OP might be useful. In some cases they actually listen and delete. In some rare cases a custom mod flag asking to delete is also in place

@Tomerikoo That's how I've always understood the queue, and how I have been reviewing. It's just that This post is good as-is and not low quality sounds inconsistent with that rule. Still, I'll continue as before.

@dbc When reviewing LQP, put on a temporary, self-approved Moderator hat and view each post as having been flagged as NAA (which they likely were). If you would decline that flag, then "Looks OK" is the button to click (or "Skip" if the former grates too much).

I think I even never noticed that phrase in the queue... Anyway, I still believe it's kinda OK. Those answers are not low-quality according to the standard of quality which is an honest attempt to answer the (any) question

@AdrianMole Yup, that's what I've been doing. My only confusion is with the new help text which seems inconsistent with that. (Maybe I only noticed it because I've been struggling a little to use keyboard navigation productively with the new queues.)

... in fact (M or M could confrm/deny), I believe moderators have a 'fast-track' version of the LQP Review queue that they use to run through NAA flags.

I know, I've actually done that once or twice for extremely wrong answers. (I vaguely recall doing that to an answer that used a non-parameterized SQL query for example.)

I understand your desire to post your messages in a room that has a lot of recent traffic, but you should resist that desire. In most rooms, people tend to react negatively, sometimes very negatively, when an unknown person comes in and asks about something that's not on-topic for the room, particularly if it's quite a bit off-topic. Prior to posting in any room, I strongly recommend you read the room's description and any FAQ or other information page(s) linked from the description.

Overall, this isn't the right room for what you are asking about. You might want to try looking at the list of rooms on Stack Overflow Chat, and/or the list of rooms on Stack Exchange Chat. Those pages have a search function, which might help you find a room that's appropriate for what you want.

The chat room is called EF'n...Entity Framework. The rooms get frozen when inactive for a bit.
