@rene It is possible to retract your custom mod-flag and re-submit with different text. In cases where I've made errors similar to what you describe, or where additional information comes to light, I've retracted the first custom mod-flag I've made and raised a new one on the same post.
Is there a way to know if a question is in queue or something when it was flagged as duplicate ? I edited my post multiple times, I'm pretty sure it's not a duplicate, I added more description, clearer title, code example. Do I have to re-ask the same, feeling really stuck
@treyBake but if the question is still open, just with pending flags/close votes, it's not relevant. Edits won't cancel those flags/votes and won't remove the question from the Close review queue.

In which case, just leave your edits live, if people still think it's a dupe, it'll be closed. Otherwise the votes will either be retracted or remain and it'll stay open (I think - not sure if close votes after X days with no closing gets auto-retracted?)
If we think that the OP’s edits to a question aren’t helping, is that a legitimate reason to post a del-pls request here? Or is that considered irrelevant to the request?
IMHO it looks like someone who has a very short question who didn't put in the effort to meet the length requirements (among a more general lack of effort...)

:48008519 BTW: You can edit your chat messages for 2 minutes. When you hover the mouse over a chat message, there's a down arrow that appears on the left. If you click on that, the popup that's opened has an "edit" button.
Although, you probably already know that, given that you're deleting your messages, which is also in that popup. :-)
@RMPR It's definitely better. However, it's still desirable to have the [tag:cv-pls], which indicates what you're asking of people. Our userscripts also look for that tag in order to show the request for review and/or archive the request when it's complete. Please see our FAQ. Yes, retracting the flag is not appropriate in this case. In almost all cases, retracting a close-flag should only be done if you no longer think the question should be closed.

So does the new threshold mean we can post 1.6 times as many cv-pls requests, or does that mean questions need to be 1.6 times as awful to be allowed a cv-pls request, since closing for bad questions is easier now?
@robsiemb If it is like the experiment, it'll wait for the 4th vote.
@Chipster Hopefully it means we need to request less since the people in the tag will have a better chance at getting things closed. I'd stick the the normal volume for now, and we can always reevaluate later.
@NathanOliver-ReinstateMonica @Chipster Yeah; no change should be necessary for the room at least for a week or so. The queue should start to drop a bit, though, and eventually the room will thin out too re: outstanding requests. But we'll still probably run out of CVs as frequently. Currently we tend to have more requests than can be fulfilled in a given day.
So with 3CVs again we should see it slowly balance out to see a more completion. Eventually that could also mean a loosening of restrictions on what can be cv-pls'd, as well (since the restrictions are in place partially due to the volume of questions needing CVs).

So I was kind of joking with the whole 1.6 thing, but actually now I think this might truly be worth talking about in a room meeting at some point when it comes time to have one. By that time, we'll have had time to see the state of things and where everything is balanced. I might open an actual issue when I get a chance if there are no objections to it.
@Chipster You're always free to open issues on the GH repo as you think appropriate. Members are free to respond there with more information and then once we have enough issues to call a meeting for, we typically call one (usually 5 or 6 pressing matters)
No guarantee that a room meeting will happen within any specific time frame of posting a given issue, though.
Also I'm not sure if it will be enough of a change to warrant such a formal process... I suspect the room will just organically become 'more efficient'.

@wim In general, for requests that people look at a question with respect to closing it, please include [tag:cv-pls] in the request. Doing so significantly helps us to track and handle requests. Formatting of requests is covered in our FAQ in the section How and why do I need to format my cv-pls (and other requests)?
@pkamb In SOCVR, we try to avoid messages which result in onebox formatting, where the contents of the post are partially copied into chat. To prevent the post from being oneboxed, you can include any additional text along with the link to the post.

@Chipster The information we have from the 3 CV experiment indicates SOCVR will be able to handle more requests. There was definitely a difference in the volume the room could deal with during the experiment. Once we get a better idea of where things will end up as a steady state wrt. closing questions, we can, and should, look at what's appropriate wrt. adjusting the requirements for cv-pls requests.
I'm not sure we need to go through the formal process of a room meeting to take a stab or two at adjustments, but if it's still an issue by the time we have a room meeting, then it should be one of the topics. What volume the room can handle is certainly something several people are paying attention to.

@Makyen well for sure the wording on the FAQ will need to be updated to reflect the correct numbers (like every time we say 5 votes should change to 3, for instance), but time will tell whether this will actually affect room operations in a way that needs to be addressed in the FAQ.

@Chipster I'd be surprised if we didn't address it, but I agree that it's not something we should do anything about immediately. I'd expect it to be a couple/few weeks prior to anything happening. With the 3 CV experiment, it took most of the time of the experiment for things to appear to get reasonably close to a steady state.
