It's not terribly harmful, but it's a minor annoyance due to these auto-flags.

@BradLarson honestly, if I were you, I'd direct your annoyance to the SO hat team. This is what happens if you design hat triggers which might or might not be harmful to the site.

You should see the voting stats for Meta due to the hat for that. You want to get visibility for a feature request, do it now and it'll shoot to the top of the sort-by-votes list.
