There's nothing wrong with circumventing things or writing malicious code as far as the site is concerned. It helps us learn how to prevent users from circumventing our things and negate the effects of malicious code.

@TinyGiant while I agree that using a proxy is not grounds for assumption of violating terms of service or acceptable use (so this question doesn't fall under that umbrella), a question asking how to hack some site or perform some malicious activity should be shut down ruthlessly

@Tunaki I do. The answer (whether it addresses the Q or not) fails to provide adequate disclosure (he's on the Blynk dev team), and the Q is asking several questions
@rlemon The problem with links to user profiles in the room is that it gives ammo to people who hate what this room does. It makes it easy for them to scream "See! They are not moderating posts, they are ganging up on users."
Linking to the post makes it explicit we are moderating just that post. linking to the user make it look like we are moderating the user and that is a no no. Can we go to the user from the post, yes. Is that our problem from there though, no.
@rlemon Also, the automated script that posts requests here also adds a link to the user profile at the end of the request. I'd say the rule is more don't come into the room saying "guys, look at this user!" than the presence or absence of the link itself.
@NathanOliver eh, I've commented on this on meta before. I disagree with the tone most people take on that. moderation is moderation and users generally ask similar types of questions.
@Louis which is fine and well, but when a user is posting nothing but spam I think it is fair game to link to their profile vs dropping all of their Qs

@rlemon I'm just explaining how the rule is. I don't particularly like it, but having had to defend the room against attack on Meta, I see the benefit of it.
@rlemon I've seriously thought about hanging in the JS room but I'm slightly concerned about the traffic there. This room has about the level of activity that works for me. (Actually, sometimes it is a bit much and the request graveyard or the trash can might be better.)
@ZachSaucier OP seems satisfied. The bind should work, but I don't think there's any point to pass inputs as it would have a shared reference (might be wrong on that). Also, add a snippet?
@Kyll it's necessary to pass both. Otherwise the JS refers to the original i object which gets updated so it'll move to the second input on the second form the first time, for example
@NathanOliver Nope. The student association asked for it, because they legally can, and wanted to see how the site was coded. And the government didn't want to comply, so they sent a letter with only one huge function.
Would having insight into auto-flags/maybe possibly non "In need of moderation attention" flags, help moderate the site? I'm curious about the repercussions of showing these to non-diamond-moderators.
@NathanOliver So if this is the case, then wouldn't it be helpful to be like, "Yup, this did get auto-flagged. Moving on now"
Personally, I'd like some reassurances. For example, what if they change the functionality in the future? Am I always going to need to be kept up to date?
@FrankerZ For me it makes no difference but I can see why it would be helpful. especially since some mods decline flags because they were already handled by an auto flag
You think this is worth a Meta? It doesn't directly apply to me, but I feel it to be able to have some insight into flagged posts would be helpful for the 10k/20k users as they can be able to help delete problematic posts
Ah. Showing a small blurb to >10k or something that "A system flag has automatically been raised, there is no need to raise one again" would be nice indeed. But... there are a lot of corner cases here.
