The other thing I hate is when you go to edit and a bunch of other people keep doing a lot of little formatting edits instead of really improving the post. I normally just walk away as my edit will get submitted as I am taking my time.

I'm not a fan of it either though.

Don't judge based on it, not if there's any sentence that could've been mistranslated, as it'll only cause problems.

@Seth Its also an indication of salary discrepancy. Actual engineers hardly make below 50-60k a year, while what you (and I) are in an apprenticeship for pays not that much over minimum wage

@Magisch I think Seth is right. Generally, an engineer is someone who has been educated in how to build/maintain the structure of something (wiring, buildings, etc). In software we often just pretend we have structure

Which is the big problem that science has right now.

People calling themselves imaginary titles which sound "scientific" but don't mean anything.

Mashing up two titles often results in an unprotected title, free to use, yet implying some sort of academic background.
